The purpose of Surat Al-Nur is to mention the provisions of chastity and concealment, and the verse adornment is one of the great means to achieve this purpose.
- The verse of adornment is called by this name in two ways:
First: The word “adornment” appears in the verse, as it appears three times in the same form
Second: The subject of the verse is to talk about women’s adornment and its rulings
Adornment is a collective name for everything that adorns it
The word “adornment” in the Qur’an came in two forms:
It came with a singular word, and it came with an added word, which is the most, and this addition varied and was multiplied as it came to be added to God, and added to man, and added to the planets, and added to the earth, and added to the life of the world.
The number of verses in which the word adornment is mentioned is seventeen
The adornment mentioned in the Qur’an is divided into two parts:
Section one: congenital adornment.
The second section: Acquired adornment, which is the most frequent occurrence in the Qur’an
The basic principle in adornment is to conceal it and not to show it, because God Almighty commanded its concealment and made its appearance the exception and the exception being the standard of the generality.
Remembrance of God the adornment without their places is an exaggeration of the command to be preserved and concealed.
