This research deals with CCD technology by explaining its reality and the ruling on relying on it. As for CCD, it is a technology used in astronomical observation centers, and it is based on photographing faint objects that cannot be seen with the naked eye and cannot be seen with a telescope alone. CCD technology is a chip placed inside the camera that processes light in a specific way to show dim objects. The CCD camera is mounted on the telescope and the camera is connected to the computer. It has two methods of imaging: direct photography or combined photography (by collecting a number of images into one image). As for its ruling, the research dealt with a number of jurisprudential issues, namely: the ruling on the crescent moon if it is seen during the day, the legally considered time for sighting the crescent moon, the circumstances of relying on CCD technology, and the ruling on each case. The research aims to explain the truth about this technology and how it works, mentioning some of what may have emerged and explaining whether this is possible or not, trying to explain the ruling on relying on this technology.
