This study explores the signification of Quranic discourse that calls for testimony, analyzing whether it indicates obligation or recommendation through an applied approach based on the classification of legal rulings. The research comprises an introduction, a preamble, two main chapters, and a conclusion. The introduction outlines the importance of the topic, the reasons for its selection, and the research objectives and methodology. The preamble discusses key concepts such as legal rulings, their categories, and the concept, legitimacy, and significance of testimony. The first chapter focuses on obligatory testimony, citing verses that highlight its necessity—such as testimony to God's oneness, testimony regarding orphans' wealth, wills, and the sighting of Ramadan—and explains the evidences indicating obligation. The second chapter addresses recommended testimony in contexts like divorce and reconciliation, sales transactions, and legal punishments, interpreting relevant verses as indicative of recommendation. The conclusion affirms that the Quranic discourse on testimony varies between obligation and recommendation depending on context and legal intent, reflecting the precision and depth of Quranic legal expression.
